Access & Infrastructure
The Chakana Cruz site includes integrated infrastructure such as a main house, working coffee facilities, access roads, water systems, a tilapia pond, and planned airstrip infrastructure.
Due to the remote location, a 750-meter landing strip is planned to enable direct access from Quito and Guayaquil in approximately 45 minutes, significantly reducing travel time from several hours by road.
This infrastructure supports local residents of the Vilcabamba region, visiting participants, research activities, and reliable medical evacuation.
All elements are designed to integrate with the landscape while preserving the environmental integrity of the site.
