Chakana Cruz Foundation

A living ecosystem where land, coffee, and people come together to create lasting impact in education and active living.

Located in Ecuador at 1,700 meters in the Andes Mountains, Chakana Cruz is rooted in land, sustained by coffee, and operated by people, for people.

How Chakana Cruz Works

Chakana Cruz operates as a self-sustaining ecosystem where coffee, land, and community programs work together to support long-term impact.

Set within a 60-hectare coffee landscape in Ecuador, and extending along approximately 4 kilometers of river, the Foundation’s activities are integrated throughout the land — including education, youth programs, and long-term active living — designed to coexist with and preserve the coffee environment.

A limited portion of the land — less than 10% — is designated separately as an enabling zone. This area is structured to generate the resources required to develop and sustain the broader Foundation across the remaining landscape.

This approach allows the majority of the land to remain productive and intact, while supporting the long-term operation and growth of the Foundation.

Foundation System
